Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Briefly you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Briefly is an AI-powered news digest service. We aggregate and summarise publicly available news articles and deliver personalised digests through your chosen channels (in-app, email, SMS, and push notifications).

We make no guarantee of uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

Account and eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Briefly. By signing up you represent that you meet this requirement.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must notify us immediately at support@briefly.app if you suspect unauthorised access.

Free trial and subscriptions

New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with access to 3 topic interests and in-app delivery. No payment method is required to start a trial.

After the trial period you may subscribe to a paid plan:

  • Basic (£8/month) — 3 topics, all delivery channels, standard tone options
  • Pro (£13/month) — 5 topics, all delivery channels, all tone options, digest archive, priority refresh

Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period. You may cancel at any time via the Settings page; access continues until the end of the current period.

All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store or handle your payment card details. Prices are shown in GBP and are inclusive of any applicable VAT.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms
  • Attempt to access, scrape, or reverse-engineer any part of the service
  • Use automated means to create accounts or interact with the service
  • Reproduce, redistribute, or resell any content generated by the service
  • Circumvent any rate limits, feature gates, or access controls

Intellectual property

The Briefly name, logo, and service design are owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property law. You may not use them without prior written consent.

Article summaries are AI-generated from publicly available sources. Source articles remain the property of their respective publishers. We do not claim ownership of underlying news content.

Disclaimers

Briefly summaries are generated by an AI and are provided for informational purposes only. We make no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any summary. Do not rely on Briefly as your sole source of information for important decisions.

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Briefly and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Our total liability for any claim arising under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Data & Privacy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
